This morning the official reception of the local authorities, headed by the mayor of the city Xulio Ferreiro, and by the Councilor for Culture, Sports and Knowledge, José Manuel Sande, was held in the plenary hall of the City Council of A Coruña to the Spanish hockey team that will play since Saturday July 14th the 53rd edition of the Men’s European Championship in the Palacio de los Deportes de Riazor and ending on Sunday 22nd.
The event was attended by Vicente Torres (president of the Galician Federation of Skating), Julio Parga (vice president of the Galician Federation of Skating), Ignacio González (vice president of the Royal Spanish Skating Federation) and Xavier Moyano (manager of the Royal Spanish Skating Federation), in addition to the entire staff of the Spanish national team along with its technical and auxiliary staff, of which its captain, Pau Bargalló, has been the one who has addressed the attendees inviting fans to attend a sporting event of the first continental magnitude, which will surely make all lovers and followers of this sport enjoy during the next nine days.
Also the mayor of A Coruña has told those present that “roller hockey is a very important sport for the city, so I would like the joy and passion with which it will compete on the rink to be transferred to the whole world, but mainly children.”
