Palacio de los Deportes de Riazor – A Coruña | July 15th, 2018
The second day of competition —the only one along with yesterday’s where five matches will not be held— kicked off at half two in the afternoon with the second match in group A between Germany and Netherland, which ended with a result of 5-1 favorable to the germans, same as Switzerland and Austria with a victory for the Swiss. The other two games of the day played out without any surprises for Italy and Portugal, both popular candidates to win the title along with Spain.
Thus, Massimo Mariotti’s italians won by a convincing 0-24 against a weak but tenacious Belgium that could not avoid the rout. Also, Portugal, managed by Luís Sénica, did not have any problems whatsoever beating Andorra by a comfortable 0-11.
After this second day of the 53rd Men’s European Championship of Roller Hockey every team has made their debut at the competition except for France, who will do so tomorrow against Andorra. It is expected that as much Italy and Portugal as Spain will easily deal with their corresponding games.
The schedule for Monday’s games is the following:
12:00 p. m. | Belgium – Germany
2:30 p. m.| France – Andorra
5:00 p. m. | Italy – England
7:00 p. m. | Netherland – Spain
22:00 p. m. | Portugal – Switzerland
